The Fourth International Symposium on the Role of Soy in Preventing and Treating Chronic Disease was held this past November in San Diego, CA. The first such symposium was held in 1994. Summary Of Findings
Coronary Heart Disease - The cholesterol-lowering effects of soy protein were officially recognized by the Food and Drug Administration in 1999 and a year later, by the American Heart Association. Much of the basis for the FDAhealth claim was the results of a meta-analysis by James Anderson and colleagues from the University of Kentucky published in 1995. Read more
