Brie Baltzell United Soybean Board c/o Publicis Consultants | PR 206-270-4631 brie.baltzell@publicis-pr.com The United Soybean Board hosts a dinner event to benefit the American Heart Association at the International Baking Industry Exposition ST. LOUIS – As the baking industry faces the challenge of delivering heart healthy versions of consumers’ favorite products, the United Soybean Board (USB) would like to congratulate both the baking industry on their efforts to incorporate hearth healthy ingredients and the American Heart Association for their research and educational outreach, equipping consumers with the knowledge they need to make heart health food choices. USB and their partners, Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) and ACH Food Companies, Inc., invite you to celebrate heart healthy baking solutions at a benefit dinner event during the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) in Orlando, Florida. The USB-hosted event will take place on October 9th at 7 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Orlando-Universal Hotel. A generous sponsorship of a minimum of $10,000 will aid the AHA’s continued research and educational efforts, helping the organization communicate important messages about heart healthy ingredients, including solutions to the trans fats challenge. For each dinner guest who attends, USB will add $125 to the sponsorship amount. The event, co-sponsored by ADM and ACH Foods, will highlight the importance of choosing heart-healthy ingredients in baked good applications. Dr. Judith Wylie-Rosett of Einstein Medical College will give a brief presentation on behalf of the AHA. Other speakers will discuss heart healthy ingredients for the baking industry and offer trans fat solutions. The dinner menu will feature foods free of trans fats and prepared with trait-enhanced soybean oil varieties. The IBIE conference is one of the most well-attended and respected baking industry events in the U.S., attracting more than 20,000 baking professionals from around the world every three years. IBIE provides an opportunity to reach influential representatives from the baking industry who are faced with the particularly challenging task of removing trans fats from baked goods without sacrificing taste or functionality. It is a critical time to share messages of heart health and trans fat solutions with manufacturers and bakers working to reformulate products. The United Soybean Board is comprised of 64 farmer-directors who oversee the investments of the soybean checkoff on behalf of all U.S. soybean farmers. It is a proud supporter of the AHA and shares the goal of educating America about the health risks associated with trans fats while emphasizing the importance of not replacing trans fats with similarly unhealthy saturated fats. Together with its industry partners, USB helps drive demand for heart-healthy products such as low-linolenic soybean oil. For more information about USB, please visit www.soyconnection.com.
