Miso Matcha Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup + 2 Tbsp All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp matcha powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp white miso paste
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease. In a medium-sized bowl, mix your dry ingredients – flour, baking soda, and matcha powder. Set aside.
  2. In a stand mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, miso paste, vanilla extract, and the egg. Mix until light and fluffy, about 1 minute.
  3. Add your dry ingredients to the mixer at a low mixing setting, a bit at a time, until fully combined. Be careful not to over-mix.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips by hand. Using a cookie or ice cream scoop, measure out 8 cookies onto your baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes before baking.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool 10–15 minutes before serving.
